English Friday: Spell Check

Hello, my dear grammar enthusiasts. I took last Friday off for the Thanksgiving holiday – I hope you did, too! However, I am back with a meme which I hope you find as funny as I did – mostly because of the irony of the error that could have been avoided if they had actually used their beloved spell check. Happy Friday! 🙂

English Friday

I’m truly an English nerd – I love a good pun and I have strong feelings about the Oxford comma. I also proofread EVERYTHING. The menu at the restaurant, signs outside of business establishments, and power point presentations at a large company Town Hall meeting (Yesterday we celebrated Service Anniversary’s. Shudder.) This list could keep going but I’ll stop there. You get the point.

So today, I introduce English Friday, in which I will most likely share a good pun most Fridays, but today I have a real treat for you. It’s my favorite example of why the Oxford comma should not be a choice, but rather a rule.

I seriously laughed SO.HARD. the first time I saw this. Tears were streaming from laughter. It was a good day.

Happy Friday!
